Dear Customers
Subject: South Western Railway: Industrial Action 2nd December 2019 until early in the New Year
I am writing to inform you of industrial action scheduled to take place on South Western Railway from the 2nd of December until early in the New Year. As many of you have purchased train student fare cards from Surrey County Council and may use the South Western Railway network to access school/college we felt it important to pass on the below message that we’ve received from the train operating company.
“An amended timetable will be in place from 2nd December until early in the New Year. While most routes will have a reduced service, some stations will be served by rail replacement buses.
I appreciate that this is deeply frustrating for our passengers and will make travel more difficult. As staff and/or students may be impacted by this strike being undertaken by the RMT, I ask for your understanding during this time. Please be assured, our priority is to do everything we can to minimise disruption and keep people moving. I ask for your help in urging passengers to check online for the latest strike timetables and the details of replacement or alternative services, which we will be updated regularly and can be found on our website
https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/rmt-industrial-action”
The website will be the best point of information”
